Manchester United are close to completing the signing of Martin Dubravka from Newcastle United.
The Peoples Person brought you the news of the goalkeeper’s agreement over personal terms, details of the deal struck between the clubs and his successful completion of his medical yesterday.
As part of the loan agreement, United have the option to buy Dubravka at any point for a fee of around £6m.
That option will become an obligation should the Slovakian feature in a certain number of matches for United.
It has now come to light that number will be decided as a percentage of the Red Devil’s total number of games.
The percentage is also said to be a high one, with the reliable Laurie Whitwell earlier tweeting:

This makes the loan deal look all the shrewder, with United firmly in the driving seat regarding the ‘keeper’s future.
Should Dubravka comfortably displace David de Gea, he will be well worth the £6m fee incurred.
As a goalkeeper more confident with his feet and considerably more active in claiming crosses, there may well be a very good chance of that happening.
However should Dubravka only feature sporadically or fail to impress, United will not be tied into another contract.
