Manchester United’s lack of firepower throughout the season was a major cause behind them registering the club’s worst-ever Premier League finish.
Erik ten Hag’s men finished as the lowest scorers in the top eight of the top flight, with only two players scoring double digit goals in the league.
Adding extra quality to the frontline is going to be a priority for INEOS in the summer with a raft of names already linked.
One player on the shortlist is RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, who has been a long-standing target for the club. He reportedly has a £50 million release clause this summer.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Sesko’s situation with the RB Leipzig forward certainly in demand after another strong season in Germany.
Romano says three Premier League clubs have made a proposal for the Slovenian with Leipzig also desperate to keep the forward.
“Sesko is taking his time to decide his future, he has a really important new contract proposal from RB Leipzig, which would see him earn an important salary and to change the release clause.
“As soon as Sesko will decide, I will let you know. I can guarantee that Sesko is still taking his time to decide between three clubs – Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal,” he explains.
Romano added that Sesko has “all of the proposals in front of him” but is yet to decide on where his future lies.
🚨 Benjamin Šeško, taking some more days to decide his future.
There’s still new contract proposal from RB Leipzig on the table. Meanwhile, Šeško said no to €30m net salary from Saudi.

Saudi Arabia have also offered him eye-watering sums to move to the Middle-East but the 21-year-old has rejected those offers in favour of staying in Europe.
United would certainly benefit from the additional quality Sesko would provide, having registered 18 goals across all competitions for Leipzig last year.
INEOS will be aware of the need to get their act together in the coming days and weeks with the transfer window fast approaching and Ten Hag’s future still up in the air.
An announcement is expected on the manager in the coming days which will shape United’s summer plans.
