Manchester United might not be doing too well on their own but at least their loan players have given them something to look forward to in the summer.
Not in terms of actually coming back and contributing, but in terms of rehabbing their value enough that United might not have to take a huge loss on them.
Jadon Sancho looks to be the biggest beneficiary of his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund.
Germany has confirmed an extra spot in the Champions League next season due to their co-efficient, paving the way for Dortmund to sneak into the competition as they are currently fifth.
Fabrizio Romano reports that with the “fresh funds” coming as a result of UCL qualification, Dortmund will intensify their efforts to sign Sancho permanently.
He says that this feat was extremely crucial for their financial planning for next season and the prospect of Sancho staying there has just become stronger.

The loan to Dortmund was always thought of as a short-term move to rehab his value as the Germans didn’t really have the funds, especially the wage budget to accommodate Sancho.
However, if the player and the club can reach an agreement on that package, then United could be in the position to negotiate well now that Dortmund’s budget is boosted.
Their position is even stronger now that Sancho has been the talisman of their dream run in this year’s Champions League.
As long as Erik ten Hag remains in charge, it is highly unlikely Sancho will return to United anyway so this is a perfect storm for United to cash in on a player who looked like a distressed asset less than five months ago.
The best-case scenario for United is that the player’s performances have turned heads in Europe too.
There has already been reported interest from clubs besides Dortmund and if they can engineer a bidding war, their own transfer kitty will receive a nice boost.
