Emile Smith Rowe has been discussing Arsenal’s 2022 summer signings in a recent interview.
Arsenal have had a fairly active 2022 summer transfer window so far.
The Gunners have made two major signings and also brought in two back-up options.
Mikel Arteta’s side have spent big on Gabriel Jesus, who joined from Manchester City to become Arsenal’s no.9. The north Londoners also signed Fabio Vieira from FC Porto, who is expected to provide competition for the likes of Martin Odegaard and Emile Smith Rowe.
Elsewhere, Matt Turner is now the back-up to Aaron Ramsdale, whilst 19-year-old Marquinhos, who was signed from Sao Paulo, is likely to be one for the future.
Now, in a recent interview, Emile Smith Rowe has been discussing which new arrival he gets on best with:
“Marquinhos,” he said. “His English is not great but I’m teaching him a little bit. Nah [not rude words], the good English! He’s a funny guy.”
On gelling with the new players and the growing number of Brazilians in the squad, Smith Rowe added: “The manager told us from the start that we need to become a family as soon as the new players come in.
“We’re getting outnumbered [by Brazilians] now, we’re trying to reclaim it! But the Brazilians are good – they’re funny, they’re loud.”
In terms of Arsenal’s remaining summer business, a deal for Oleksandr Zinchenko appears to be very close to being finalised, whilst a move for a defensive midfielder is also on the cards.
