Big-money summer arrival got off the mark in Liverpool colours in spectacular fashion on Thursday, finding the net on a quartet of occasions.
Jurgen Klopp’s troops were back in action a short time ago.
After getting the club’s pre-season preparations back on track courtesy of a 2-0 downing of Crystal Palace last time out, the Reds, on this occasion, made the trip to Germany for a meeting with Bundesliga heavyweights RB Leipzig.
And, when all was said and done at the Red Bull Arena, the evening’s visitors emerged comfortable victors once more.
Mohamed Salah was first on target, latching onto Roberto Firmino’s layoff to slot a typically pinpoint finish into the bottom corner:

From here, though, one man and one man only went on to steal the show.
The player in question? The aforementioned Nunez.
First, shortly after the interval, Liverpool’s prolific summer addition, singled out for heavy criticism owing to his pre-season efforts thus far, opened his account for the Reds from the penalty spot.
Then, five minutes later, Nunez was back on target once more, directing a cool right-footed strike across the goalkeeper and home.
The former Benfica man then showcased his predatory instincts in slotting home from close range on the back of a perfectly-weight pull-back on the part of Harvey Elliott:

And yet, there was still time for Nunez to add further to his haul, rounding out a late breakaway from Klopp’s visitors to put the finishing touches in a stellar individual display:
