Borussia Dortmund boss Edin Terzic has revealed one of Jadon Sancho’s key ambitions even as the Manchester United star’s loan spell with the Bundesliga giants nears its end.
After Dortmund’s crucial Champions League final clash against Real Madrid this weekend, Sancho is set to make his return to United.
Sorting out the 24-year-old’s future is one of the many topics Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS will need to handle.
Unsurprisingly, after an impressive loan stint at Signal Iduna Park, Dortmund want to extend Sancho’s stay with them but it’s unclear whether it will be on another temporary basis or a permanent one.
United would ideally like to part ways with the forward completely following his falling out with Erik ten Hag but at the same time, the Red Devils will almost certainly not be pushed into accepting nominal fees for such a talented player.
A previous report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that the 20-time English champions want around £55m for Sancho.
Ahead of his side’s crucial clash vs. Carlo Ancelotti’s men, Terzic spoke in a press conference and disclosed that Sancho’s ambition is to force his way back into the England team.
Sancho was of course snubbed by Gareth Southgate when the Three Lions boss named his provisional Euro 2024 squad.
Terzic remarked, “I think you can see that he is very happy with us, with the group.”
“To be honest, I didn’t speak to him about the English national team. This is one of his personal targets [to get a call-up] and I am quite sure that he would love to be involved with the national team.”
“Also, from my point of view, I also think that he deserves to be involved with the national team of England.”
Sancho has not lined up for England since missing a penalty in the Euro 2020 final against Italy. He has won 23 international caps, scoring three goals in the process.
