Manchester United are said to be interested in Real Betis striker Borja Iglesias.
According to the Spanish outlet estadio deportivo, the Red Devils have their eyes on Iglesias.
The 30 year old has attracted plenty of interest from the Premier League, with clubs like Fulham, Brighton and Brentford mentioned.
The report states:
“Despite this, Stadium Deportivo has been able to learn first-hand that Betis is currently very attentive to the Premier League and to a more than possible offer for Borja in recent market dates , which would force the sports management to move quickly in the market in search of a warranty replacement at an appropriate price.”
“In fact, in Heliópolis, they already know first-hand the English interest in their striker, having received an initial survey by the Galician or by one of the top ten in the Premier League.”
“There are several clubs in the upper zone of the English championship that are looking to strengthen their lead before the ‘deadline’.”
Iglesias would be a left-field pick for United.
At 30, he clearly would be a short-term fix, similar to Wout Weghorst.
Erik ten Hag might be keen on signing the player due to his technical prowess.
The Dutchman likes his number nine as an all-around player who can link up with his teammates.
Iglesias would offer a new dynamic to United’s attack.
With more lucrative striker options available on the market, it seems unlikely that United would spend €40 million on the Betis star.
