Amad Diallo got on the scoresheet for Sunderland as the Black Cats recovered from going a goal down to beat Birmingham City at the Stadium of Light.
Birmingham opened the scoring just a minute shy of the half-hour mark through George Hall. Sunderland’s Trai Hume restored parity right before the break.
Diallo produced the most significant contribution of the match in the 75th minute. The United loanee received a superb ball from Jack Clarke before chopping United academy teammate Hannibal Mejbri inside the Birmingham box.
The Ivorian then fired the ball with his left foot into the bottom corner to give Tony Mowbray’s side the lead.
