Will Graham Potter be sacked? – Talk Chelsea

It’s fair to say that Graham Potter’s tenure in charge of Chelsea hasn’t hit the heights originally expected. We’ve been going through somewhat of a merry-go-round on managers at Stamford Bridge in recent years, and plenty of supporters would be keen to see Potter break that trend and stick around with the club for the foreseeable future.

However, doubts have already risen from some of the Stamford Bridge faithful, and rightly so. The Blues’ recent form has been nothing short of dismal and has seen them tumble down to tenth in the table. We’re exactly the same points away from the relegation zone than we are to fourth spot, with Champions League qualification seeming like a completely unrealistic expectation this term.

We’re heading into a London derby against Spurs with no wins in our last five matches, and given that one of those defeats came to relegation-threatened Southampton, momentum seems as though it’s at an all-time low. Therefore, it’s unsurprising to hear that some supporters have voiced their concerns over Potter’s ability to manage the club.

The 47-year-old made a hugely positive start to life at Stamford Bridge, with wins over AC Milan, Crystal Palace, Wolves, Aston Villa, and Red Bull Salzburg catching the eye for all the right reasons. One win from our last ten matches simply isn’t good enough for Chelsea though, and we’re in for an interesting few months ahead if this poor run of form continues any longer.

Experts at My Betting Sites have revealed that Potter is priced at 5/4 on Paddy Power to be the next Premier League manager sacked, although it seems as though it’s between the former Brighton & Hove Albion boss and West Ham manager David Moyes. Below, you’ll find the odds on Potter to be the next manager to depart in the Premier League with other betting sites.

    • Paddy Power @ 5/4
    • Betfair @ 5/4
    • Sky Bet @ 6/5
    • William Hill @ 6/5
    • Parimatch @ 4/5
    • BetVictor @ 4/5

You should take Potter’s odds to depart with a pinch of salt though, as Moyes’ future could be decided as early as this weekend. It’s previously been reported that if West Ham are to lose to Nottingham Forest, then the Scotsman’s time in charge of the Hammers could reach a conclusion.

Potter’s spell at Stamford Bridge has been one that has thrown up some positives, but the recent negatives are threatening to tarnish his glowing reputation, which he previously had when he arrived with the Blues. It’s hugely important that we see an upturn in results at the earliest of opportunities, starting with a positive outcome against Spurs, who have been inconsistent at times during this year’s league campaign.

A defeat to Spurs, and the writing could potentially be on the wall for Potter, as despite the supposed long-term vision of Chelsea for him, you simply can’t keep losing matches at a club with our stature. Only time will tell as to whether he’s the manager we’ll need leading the club into next season.
