I want to begin by saying that Thomas Tuchel should not be immune to criticism. Nobody is perfect. I encourage people to analyse things entirely and collectively.
There is never going to be just one reason or one thing to blame after getting thrashed 3-0 by Leeds United, there will always be a number of things, and the blame should be shared throughout.
I don’t think Tuchel is perfect, and I am even comfortable questioning some of the decisions he makes and some of the things he has said and done. I think as a football fan you are entitled to do so about players, managers, and owners alike.
You’re the one who pays your hard-earned money to go to games or buy merchandise and generally support the club, so it’s your given right as a fan to voice your opinions on all of it.
For me right now, I’m firmly backing Thomas Tuchel still despite my questions. I believe that he has done enough to earn that right from us Chelsea fans.
The turmoil he has seen us through, the UCL triumph, the many good games we have played under Tuchel, and the person he is in general and the top coach he has proven to be throughout his career, should be enough for us fans to continue backing him in my opinion.
I might not agree with Chelsea signing Pierre Emerick Aubameyang for example, but I also know that he is a Tuchel pick, so I will be fully behind the move and behind Tuchel’s targets.
I think we can only really judge him when the season ends and we see where we are then. But until then, he has my full support and backing, and he deserves that.
