Tottenham among five Premier League to rival West Ham for Jesse Lingard

Tottenham are among the sides monitoring the situation of free agent Jesse Lingard as West Ham look to tie up a deal for their former loanee, according to reports.

Lingard is a free agent following his departure from Manchester United this summer, and has attracted significant interest from plenty of clubs at home and abroad.

The 29-year-old midfielder has received offers from the MLS and from Saudi Arabia, but has still not decided his future, and is set to be courted by a number of teams in the top flight before he makes his decision.

According to the Guardian, Everton and Nottingham Forest are both considering tabling an offer for the former Red Devil, while they add that ‘Leicester, Newcastle and Tottenham are monitoring the situation’.

However, West Ham remain strong on the midfielder, though they cannot countenance the £180k per week wages that Lingard is demanding at present and would need the English international to reduce those demands.

    Broja to stay put?

Meanwhile, the Hammers may have been dealt a further blow as Thomas Tuchel has warned that he does not expect Armando Broja to leave Chelsea this summer, despite reports that David Moyes’ side are close to sealing a deal for the Albanian.

“I don’t expect Armando to leave”, Tuchel told the media. “We are aware of offers and interest. We will take this decision together with the owner and the player. When he was here I was aware that he was trying to impress and become a Chelsea player as soon as possible.”

This would be another major blow in the east London side’s transfer plans, with Moyes looking to strengthen his side ahead of another long season.
