Whilst things might not have worked out in the end, Thomas Tuchel’s almost two years at Chelsea will be fondly remembered by Chelsea fans, who will always hold him in high regard.
Not only due to him leading us to Champions League triumph, but also for what he did to see us all through the turmoil time of the club takeover and the sanctions. He was literally the face of the club when all of that happened and was forced to be the unofficial spokesperson.
He got the players continuing to play all through that period and he kept the fans calm and positive when none of us had any idea what was around the corner. His job was even at risk, as was the whole club at the time. Tuchel deserves the upmost respect for that period.
He also got us to five finals, and we had some very good times under him as boss. Whatever your thoughts on the football becoming mundane and boring, and relationships breaking down in the dressing room and between Tuchel and the new board, we can always look back at those moments and commend Tuchel for his time here for all of that, and for the UCL triumph.
I don’t have a bad word to say about him and regardless of what went on behind the scenes, because clearly something has, I will always thank him and wish him every success in the future and his next move.
So, thank you, Thomas, for all you did for our club.
