Pep’s 5 titles in 7 years is a lot for the Premier League. The last time they dominated so powerfully was only in the 90s – Alex Ferguson’s Man United won 6 titles in 8 years.
Let’s not forget that Manchester City have a league record for points scored: in the 2017/18 season, they broke the 100 mark.
There are also a lot of City in the ranking with the most powerful championships in terms of points scored. And a few more Man City records – although there are just a lot of them!

The best coach of the new millennium
In any case, the Spanish specialist, who now heads Manchester City, has the highest percentage of wins in the three and TOP-5 European Championships in which he worked.
These are the data of the specialized portal Transfermarkt. Guardiola is by far the best in the top three leagues – the Premier League, La Liga and the Bundesliga. In the Italian Serie A and the French Ligue 1, Pep has not yet worked. Interestingly, the Italian specialist Carlo Ancelotti, who worked in all five of the best European championships, entered the TOP-10 of all leagues, but made it to the top three only once.
If we talk about the English Premier League, then in second place after Guardiola is Sir Alex Ferguson, who worked with Manchester United. Rounding out the top three is Jurgen Klopp.
In the Spanish La Liga, Jose Mourinho, who worked with Real Madrid, is in second place after Guardiola. On the third – the current coach of Barcelona Xavi. It is noteworthy that in the TOP-10 there is only one coach who did not work in Real Madrid or Barcelona – Diego Simeone with Atlético.
In Italy, the first place belongs to Anthony Conte, who has worked with Inter, Juventus and Atalanta. In second place is the current Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri, who also has three Serie A clubs on his resume – Cagliari, Milan and Juventus. Surprisingly, Leonardo, who has worked in Milan and Inter, closes the top three. It is noteworthy that in the top ten there is only one coach who worked with one team – Rudy Garcia, who once coached Roma.
Who is behind him
The Manchester City coaching team even has an artificial intelligence specialist. Pep Guardiola’s genius is undeniable, but a good part of his success comes from the team he has gathered around him. Many assistants have been working with him since the days of Barcelona, following the boss from team to team, and he began to cooperate with someone already at City.
Rodolfo Borrell – assistant, closest assistant. His talent is to find future stars among the youth. Borrell worked at Barcelona from 1995 to 2008 and can be considered Lionel Messi’s first coach and the man who helped Cesc Fàbregas and Andrés Iniesta become world-class footballers.
– In 2021, the City Football Group hired former astrophysicist and political adviser to the Treasury Department, Laurie Shaw, as a “leading specialist in artificial intelligence.” He was not alone – three more were hired for a similar position. City then confirmed they had hired “new hires” in the data field, adding that all of the newcomers had backgrounds in physics and would work at 10 City Football Group (CFG) clubs.
– Tom Perry Hanna Meiho monitors the nutrition of the players. Previously, Silvia Tremoleda worked as a nutritionist, who changed the menu of the club canteen so much that the players began to carry food from there home. Pep, by the way, has two taboos: sweets and pizza.
