Just two teams remain in the 2023/24 UEFA Europa League, and they will face each other in the final later this month in Dublin.
The final will take place on Wednesday, 22nd May, at the Aviva Arena, with Atalanta vs Bayer Leverkusen.
Atalanta: The Road to Their First-ever Final
Atalanta have made it through to their first final after storming their way past some tough opponents. The Italian side sits fifth in Serie A with two games to go, just four points behind Juventus in fourth. - Went undefeated in the group stages, topping Group D with 14 points from a possible 18, winning four and drawing two of their six matches.
- Knocked out Sporting 3-2 on aggregate in the Round of 16.
- Beat Liverpool 3-1 on aggregate in the quarter-finals.
- 4-1 aggregate win over Marseille in the semi-finals.
Bayer Leverkusen: The Hunt for the Treble
Xabi Alonso and his Leverkusen side have dominated this season, storming to a first Bundesliga title while going the whole season undefeated. Their title triumph also ended Bayern Munich’s 13-year domination of the league. With the chance to claim the treble with victory in the German Cup on Saturday, 25th May and a win in Dublin, it’s safe to say no matter the result; this has been an incredible first season in management for the Spaniard. - Topped Group H, undefeated with six wins from six.
- Knocked out Qarabag 5-4 in Round of 16.
- 1-3 win over West Ham in quarter-finals.
- Semi-final 4-2 victory over Roma.
