Raheem Sterling’s move to Chelsea from Manchester City is now very close, with the final details just left to tie up.
It’s been a long time coming, and Chelsea’s transfer window so far can be described as a little laboured. But it looks like we will soon be welcoming our first signing of the summer for this window.
Chelsea are down to the final details of a £45m move for Raheem Sterling, with the attacker expected to go on the pre-season tour to the United States.

Sterling arriving will provide a real boost, especially if they get him in before the weekend when we head off the America for our pre-season tour, which is our intentions as reported.
While Raheem Sterling is comfortable with the terms and excited about a move back to London with the club, Matthijs De Ligt is understood to currently prefer a move to Germany with the Bundesliga champions. De Ligt remains open to Chelsea move.

Sterling is excited to be joining Chelsea, and the announcement will provide a real ‘pick-me-up’ for Chelsea fans who have rightly been growing concerned and frustrated with the lack of any new signings so far in this window.
I believe it can be the kickstart that we need this window to then encourage us to push on and get the rest of our targets over the line this summer.
Let’s hope he can join his new team mates on the tour this weekend, or at least join before the first match of the pre-season, because it is so important that he gets settled and used to his new team mates and coaches.
