Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has said that he feels the love from Juventus fans more than anywhere else including from his former club in England.
Pogba joined The Old Lady from United in the summer as a free agent after failing to agree on extension terms with the Red Devils.
The French midfielder, speaking to GQ, hailed the Juve fans, saying their love of him motivated his efforts to rejoin them in Italy’s top flight.
He told GQ, “When I left they were very grateful for the years together. I was young and they really always pushed me to the stadium, they were always behind me.”
“I always felt the love of these fans, this is the truth.”
“I’ve never heard such a great one, not even in Manchester.”
The 29-year-old also revealed that during his Old Trafford tenure, he remained in touch with Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri.
He branded his special relationship with the Italian as handsome and honest.
Hailing Allegri, Pogba remarked that his current manager was constantly pushing him and attempting to help the player become the best possible version of himself.
In a frank admission, the former United man said that his move to the 20-time English champions did not go as planned, something he attributed to injury.
Since his blockbuster £94.5m return to the Theatre of Dreams, Pogba struggled with injury and fitness issues. He was sidelined for up to 100 games as a consequence.
This is something that has been extrapolated to his current second spell in Turin. The world champion is still yet to feature in a competitive game for Juve after missing the start of the season to undergo knee surgery.
