Paris Saint-Germain have made a contractual offer to Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho and he is “about to say yes” to the deal.
The dazzling winger looked to have returned to the United fold like the prodigal son and played in Saturday’s 2-0 pre-season victory over Rangers, offering glimpses of the talent that United had missed last season.
United manager Erik ten Hag has spoken in two interviews last week about having ironed out his differences with the maverick star and fans became excited that the player would be a part of their team’s attack next season as they launch their assault on the Premier League.
There had been interest from Borussia Dortmund in taking Sancho back on loan and Serie A giants Juventus were interested, especially in a loan.
However, according to footmercato.net, it is PSG that are ready to make a sensational move for the 24 year old.
“The club from the French capital is close to concluding a contractual agreement with the 24-year-old English winger,” reporter Santi Aouna writes.
“Jadon Sancho [is] about to say yes to PSG!”
According to the report, PSG are yet to open negotiations with United over the player, with their intention seemingly to agree terms first with the player. Given that he is not in the last 6 months of his United contract, this could be seen by United as tapping-up.
“PSG and Manchester United will also have to find common ground, at a time when the Manuel Ugarte case is also being discussed,” the report concludes, which raises an interesting point.
The two clubs are believed to be in negotiations over the defensive midfielder, with United reportedly having made a bid in the region of €40 million and PSG holding out for €60-€70 million.
With United reportedly having valued Sancho at around £50 million / €60 million, a player exchange could, in theory, be on the cards.
If true, PSG’s interest will completely reignite Sancho exit rumours as it had seemed no club was in a position to come close to matching United’s financial demands.
However, under Qatari ownership, the French club have very deep pockets and could make a very viable bid for the England international.
