Marcus Rashford has been one of the beneficiaries of Erik ten Hag’s arrival at Manchester United. The forward was in fine form in pre-season – something he has replicated so far in the Premier League.
On top of a goal against Arsenal, the Englishman was United’s man-of-the-match in their 3-1 victory over Arsenal. He scored two and assisted one, in a sublime showing.
The men’s Three Lions manager, Gareth Southgate seems to have taken note of Rashford’s recent performances and is considering recalling him to the England squad.
According to the Daily Star’s Jeremy Cross, the United no. 10 is in Southgate’s thoughts with the Qatar World Cup now only months away.
As per Cross, “Gareth Southgate will consider handing Marcus Rashford an England lifeline.”

The 24-year-old, along with his Red Devils teammate Jadon Sancho, was axed from the squad for friendlies against Switzerland and Ivory Coast.
The two United stars’ names were omitted after struggling for form with their club and strings of poor performances.
Back in March, on Rashford, Southgate said, “With Marcus, he is in the same position as everyone else – whether they are in the squad or not they all have to play well in the next period.”
“It is a difficult time for him, he is clearly not at his best.”
“There is plenty of time. We know about Marcus, we know what he can bring to us.”
Rashford is certainly making a strong case for himself to get back into the England squad, who are one of the favorites to win football’s most coveted silverware.
United fans will be hoping Southgate keeps his word and that the academy graduate continues to produce the goods to give himself the best chance of a recall.
