Despite FA Cup success, it was an overall disappointing campaign for Manchester United and major changes are expected this summer transfer window.
New co-owners INEOS are looking at a large-scale clearout with very few big-name players safe from the planned cull. Raphael Varane has already announced his departure and Casemiro could follow suit.
Skipper Bruno Fernandes was the only superstar to emerge from the wreckage with his reputation enhanced as he notched 15 goals and registered 13 assists.
Incidentally, he was at the top of the list for chances created in the English top-flight for the second year running.
Bruno not a Bayern target
Despite the stunning individual displays, the Portuguese has been recently linked with the likes of Bayern Munich and Barcelona with INEOS reportedly open to a sale should they receive a huge bid.
But as Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg revealed, the Bundesliga giants are currently not thinking about the United superstar as they already have adequate options in the creative midfield role.
đź”´ New rumors about Bruno #Fernandes and FC Bayern:
Currently, the 29 y/o from ManUtd is not a hot topic of interest at Bayern, and there’s no need for a player in that position right now as Jamal Musiala and Thomas MĂĽller are under contract …
… and Xavi Simons is on the list… pic.twitter.com/ctwBG99gJq

The Bavarian side already have Jamal Musiala and Thomas MĂĽller in their team and are eyeing Xavi Simons of Paris Saint-Germain, a much cheaper option as compared to the 29-year-old.
“Currently, the 29 y/o from Man Utd is not a hot topic of interest at Bayern, and there’s no need for a player in that position right now as Jamal Musiala and Thomas Müller are under contract.
Bruno’s future
“And Xavi Simons is on the list for summer as reported days ago,” Plettenberg wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
This will serve as great news for United fans who would be devastated to lose their club captain, who has been the best signing of the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era.
Once the transfer window dust settles, the club should try and match the midfield ace’s ambitions. And that possibly includes a new deal which includes a pay rise.
The club should now try and focus on bringing in the right personnel and finding the right managerial appointment so that the club can keep moving forward.
