Manchester United’s remarkable FA Cup final win over Manchester City was scripted by their young stars at Wembley.
Two years after winning the FA Youth Cup, Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo stepped up for Man United’s first team in some fashion to seal the side’s thirteenth FA Cup triumph.
Apart from getting their names on the scoresheet, the teenage pair, unfazed by the big occasion, emerged as constant threats against Pep Guardiola’s men and underlined how placing trust in young players can pay great dividends.
INEOS appear to have taken note of the same, as they continue to look for young prospects to strengthen United’s teams across different levels. The latest name on their radar is Baylee Dipepa.
The Port Vale striker, 17, has emerged as one of the most exciting attacking talents in Football League One.
The England U17 star made a staggering 26 first-team appearances for the Valiants this term, scoring three goals and assisting twice in the process.
Naturally, this has led to interest from a host of Premier League clubs, including United.
As per The Daily Mail, United, Newcastle, Aston Villa, and West Ham are all interested in Dipepa. European giants Borussia Dortmund and Red Bull Leipzig have also monitored the young forward.
However, it is being claimed that the Red Devils are leading the race for the Port Vale sensation’s signature ahead of the summer transfer window. It is thought Dipepa would be tempted to move to Old Trafford.
While United have set their sights on one young forward, they are set to lose another top goal-scoring prospect this summer.
Highly-rated academy striker Charlie McNeill confirmed before United’s FA Cup outing that he is set to exit the club upon the expiration of his contract.
As far as the senior side is concerned, Anthony Martial is also destined to leave. The Frenchman was not even part of Erik ten Hag’s travelling squad for the big game in London.
