Jadon Sancho says thank you to Dortmund, but no goodbye…

Jadon Sancho has thanked coach Edin Terzic and the Borussia Dortmund board for “believing in him” as his six-month loan deal in Westphalia comes to an end.

Sancho re-joined Dortmund in January on loan after a public falling out with Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag, their spat played out over social media.

The England international, who joined United from Dortmund for £73million in July 2021, played a key role as Terzic’s side reached the Champions League final only to lose 2-0 to Real Madrid at Wembley on Saturday.

His future remains uncertain with Dortmund unlikely to be able to afford a permanent deal – although another loan cannot be ruled out – while it seems unthinkable he will get another chance at Old Trafford unless Ten Hag is sacked.

    Writing on X, the 24-year-old said: “What a crazy 6 months @bvb09.

“We win together we lose together, these moments only make us stronger! I’m so grateful to be apart of such an amazing group of players!

“I want to congratulate Real Madrid on winning the Champions League. We came up short on the night, but we should be super proud of ourselves. We are a family and these moments won’t break us! Thank you to everybody who came out to support us on such a special day!

“@BVB, I want to thank everyone involved at such an amazing club. I can’t thank you enough for welcoming me back the way you all have during these last 6 months.

“Thank you to Edin Terzić, [sporting director] Sebastian Kehl and [CEO] Hans-Joachim Watzke for believing in me and bringing me back.

“Finally a special thank you to the BVB fans. Your support is amazing and I’m forever thankful for you all!”
