Chelsea’s long wait for Aubameyang has been extended even further, and it could be a while until we see this infamous player join the ranks of the deep blue. This is so much the case that it looks as though Chelsea’s plan for the season may have to be all but thrown out of the window without the addition of Aubameyang, and this could end up having a plethora of detrimental side effects.

In this article, we will be taking a look at how Chelsea’s wait for Aubameyang may end up negatively affecting their season, as well as discussing what we may be set to see from Chelsea this coming year. Let’s dive straight into it.

Aubameyang Is Not The Only New Addition To The Squad

Something that is vital to factor into the equation when looking at how much Chelsea’s season could be affected by Aubameyang’s absence is that they already have a boatload of new players to deal with in the first place.

Chelsea’s mad summer has seen them acquire seven brand new players over the course of just a couple of months, and as you would expect, this is going to have a monumental impact on their upcoming season. However, that’s not to say things are going to be good.

It takes a while for new players to become accommodated into a team, and as we are going to talk about in the next section, this could end up having an extremely negative effect.

Evidence for this can be found on any simple odds calculator – despite Chelsea’s best efforts, all of the new players they have acquired may end up deepening the hole they have found themselves in, and this could happen with or without the addition of Aubameyang.

In fact, it is highly likely that Aubameyang would have been able to make very little difference even if he were already amongst Chelsea’s ranks. There is only so much that one man can do, and as he proved at Arsenal, it erred on the side of ‘not doing much’.

We Could Be Set To See a Rocky Season

When you pair together the delayed Chelsea-Aubameyang transfer with the fact that Chelsea has just acquired a roster of new team members, it can be pretty easy to see why people have their concerns. Not only is the star player not even in the team yet, but the myriad of fresh faces have likely not had the time to get themselves accustomed to the team dynamic, and this could lead to catastrophic results.

That all goes without mentioning the fact that Chelsea was already lagging behind the rest of the top Premier League teams to begin with – who knows what they are going to look like now that they are handicapped.

We may be set to see an incredibly rocky season from Chelsea if things continue how they are, and to the dismay of fans everywhere, it could just end up being one of their worst seasons yet.

So, what do you think is going to come of Chelsea in this upcoming season? Do you think they will perform just fine without the help of Aubameyang, or do you think that their extended wait is going to leave them vulnerable? Whatever happens; there is very little that can be done to change Chelsea’s fate.

We are just going to have to wait and see how Chelsea deals with all the challenges it is facing at the moment, and it is going to be tough no matter what. Catch you in the next one.
