A fresh insight into the efforts of Premier League outfit West Ham United to reinforce the club’s frontline has, on Friday, been provided.
Securing fresh blood up top has, of course, emerged as something of a priority at the London Stadium with a view to the 2022/23 campaign.
This comes with the Irons having been altogether overly reliant on main man Michail Antonio last time out, lacking any reliable backup option to the Jamaican international.
Until recently, the hitman most widely tipped to link up with David Moyes’ troops this summer, of course, had been Armando Broja.
Amid suggestions that Thomas Tuchel has personally intervened to ensure that the Albanian talent remains on Chelsea’s books for the time being, though, the powers that be at West Ham have been forced to turn their attentions elsewhere.

And, on Friday, an insight into the chances of one such alternative target landing at the London Stadium has been provided.
The player in question? Gianluca Scamacca.
Links between West Ham and Italian international Scamacca began to reemerge across the European media little over 24 hours ago, amid suggestions that the 23-year-old had made his way back towards the top of the Irons’ wishlist.
In turn, it should not come as a huge surprise to hear of the transfer team in east London mounting a concerted push to beat out the competition for his signature.
As per transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, West Ham have tabled an opening offer to Sassuolo to the tune of €36 million up front, followed by €6 million in bonuses.
Talks are therefore continuing surrounding potential further add-ons, as well as a resale percentage, with confidence growing that a deal between the two clubs will ultimately be struck.
Elsewhere, the Hammers are also understood to be closing on a €15 million deal for Eintracht Frankfurt wide-man Filip Kostic.
