Four Premier League clubs are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay this summer, with one in particular expected to submit an offer soon.
Despite United’s struggles in the 2023/24 season, McTominay somewhat enjoyed a good season as he scored a career-high 10 goals across all competitions. Only Rasmus Hojlund and Bruno Fernandes found the back of the net on more occasions than McTominay.
Some of the Scotland international’s goals were crucial for the Red Devils.
McTominay netted a crucial injury-time double against Brentford back in October to ensure United clinched all three points at Old Trafford.
He also grabbed another brace vs. Chelsea during a 2-1 win for Erik ten Hag’s men.
Some of the Carrington academy graduates other decisive strikes came against the likes of Aston Villa, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Galatasaray, Liverpool and Coventry City on United’s way to winning the FA Cup.
However, it seems that his exploits weren’t enough to convince United to render him an untouchable asset.
A previous report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that the Red Devils are open to selling their talismanic midfielder for the right price.
It was stated that Marco Silva’s Fulham retain an admiration for the 27-year-old and view him as someone who would perfectly slot into the middle of the park at Craven Cottage.
According to Manchester World, Fulham are not the only party pursuing keeping tabs on McTominay.
“Fulham are leading the chase to sign Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay and are expected to lodge a bid later this summer.”
“ManchesterWorld understands Fulham hold a strong interest, with manager Marco Silva keen on the United youth graduate and he hopes to pair McTominay with former team-mate Andreas Pereira in the Fulham midfield.”
“A bid is expected at some point, while Southampton, Newcastle United and West Ham United are also interested in McTominay.”
The news outlet explains that West Ham’s interest in McTominay has waned a little bit since last summer when their offer to lure the player to the London Stadium proved unsuccessful.
Now that Joao Palhinha is set to leave Fulham to join Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, Fulham could accelerate their plans to land McTominay ahead of their rivals.
