Manchester United were offered the chance to sign Napoli winger Hirving Lozano according to numerous reports.
In recent days, links and reports emerged about United’s interest in the Mexican forward.
His former representative, Alessandro Monfrecola has indicated that the player could leave Italy’s top flight next June.
Besides the Red Devils, Monfrecola also mentioned Real Madrid, Barcelona and Everton as other possible destinations.
However, according to Italian journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the noise surrounding a potential move to Old Trafford by the 27-year-old could be agent-driven more than anything else really.
Romano reports, “It’s important to clarify that it is the player’s former agent who has given quotes to the press about a potential move to Old Trafford.”
“From what I’m told, he was offered to Manchester United, nothing else.”
“They never made any bid to Napoli.”
Romano insists that the situation around the player is quiet at the moment and that he is happy in Naples under the stewardship of Luciano Spalletti.
Romano also revealed what Lozano’s price tag could be. “I think his price tag could be around €20-25m.”
The player is tied to a contract with his current employers up to 2024, although the terms within the agreement could see other parties invited to battle it out for his signature.
Lozano is said to be a fan of both English and Spanish football and would be keen to test himself in another league with a fresh challenge.
