Manchester United’s Donny van de Beek is reportedly interested in a move to Saudi Arabia.
The Dutchman has endured a nightmare of a career at Old Trafford as he has only scored two goals in 62 matches since making his debut in 2020.
The 27-year-old made a loan move to Eintracht Frankfurt to resurrect his career but he only made eight appearances since moving in January, as he failed to make any sort of impression in the Bundesliga.
As a result, Frankfurt rejected the chance to activate a buy option in his loan deal.
The Netherlands international will be sold in the summer market and clearly has no future at the club as he wasn’t in attendance for the club’s spectacular FA Cup success on Saturday at Wembley.
Van de Beek has been linked to a plethora of clubs with his former side Ajax and Serie A champions Inter Milan credited with an interest in signing the player.
Winwin website has claimed that there are new suitors for the midfielder.
The site states that “private sources confirmed that Dutchman Donny van de Beek, Manchester United’s midfielder, has entered the list of interests of Saudi clubs, in preparation for contracting with him in the upcoming summer transfer period.”
“According to winwin sources, the player was presented to Al-Ahly, Jeddah and Al-Ettifaq officials, in order to discuss the possibility of including him in the current summer market.”
Most interestingly of all, “The Manchester United star welcomes the idea of moving to Saudi Arabia.
“A source close to the player explained that he did not mind at all the idea of moving to play in Saudi Arabia at this stage, as he expressed his admiration for the Kingdom’s football project, but he was waiting to receive official offers from interested clubs, in order to decide his fate.”
It would be a big surprise if the 27-year-old was ready to give up on a European career so short of his thirtieth year.
Despite his poor form, if he were to lower his wage demands considerably, there would be numerous bottom-half teams or even second-division sides who would take a chance on the midfielder.
However, the player has been so starved of action in recent years, that he may jump at any opportunity to play regular football for the first time in four years.
