The new season started off in disastrous fashion for Manchester United with two consecutive defeats at the hands of Brighton and Brentford as the team conceded six times.
Since then, Erik ten Hag has turned around the fortunes of the club with four wins on the trot, a run which includes the scalps of arch rivals Liverpool and current table-toppers Arsenal.
Even on the road, United have stood tall, beating both Leicester City and Southampton while keeping clean sheets.
That run was halted on Thursday as United lost at home to Real Sociedad in their Europa League opener, albeit in controversial circumstances.
The Dutch boss has managed to get a tune out of most players with the notable exception of Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese is yet to open his account for the season.

Too early to say if Chelsea will try again for Cristiano Ronaldo in January.

The United No 7 has started only once in the league and that coincided with a 0-4 loss at the hands of the Bees. His next start was against Sociedad and that also ended in a loss.
CR7 on the move in Jan?
The 37-year-old had missed pre-season and seems off the pace and lacking in match sharpness. Having wanted to leave the club and join a Champions League club, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner is having to fight for his place in the starting line-up.
And that has prompted the rumour mill to already start guessing whether the former Real Madrid star will be on his way in the January window.
According to journalist Todo Fichajes, with Thomas Tuchel no longer at Chelsea, the London outfit might be inclined to try once again in the winter.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has stated that for now, they have more pressing matters like appointing a new sporting director. But Todd Boehly remains an admirer of Ronaldo.
“Todd Boehly wanted Cristiano Ronaldo, but Thomas Tuchel was very clear on more than one occasion that he had no intention to go for Cristiano Ronaldo.
“He was offered to Chelsea, but also to Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid,” Romano wrote in his Caught Offside column.
The Portugal skipper is focussing on winning back his place in the starting line-up for now and has been 100 % professional during training in a bid to impress the Dutch manager.
