Chelsea aren’t looking to just appoint one or two experts in the field, they are looking to recruit experts in an entire team of the newly re-shaped recruitment and scouting department at the club.
We had always heard the rumours before Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital arrived as new owners, that they had major rebuild plans for the club, especially in recruitment. We had heard that they wanted to instil data experts and turn our recruitment department in to one of the best in world football.
And right now, they are going a long way to do just that. Four or five heads are better than one, surely? And it looks like, if the rumours are correct, Chelsea are looking for a number of proven experts in their individual fields and creating a number of different roles for them, in an attempt to become world beaters in recruitment.
Chelsea’s rebuilding continues. Joe Shields appointment is 100% done and sealed, it will be official soon. 🚨🔵 #CFC
Monaco techincal director Laurence Stewart will also join the Chelsea recruitment team, as called by @David_Ornstein.

It’s been clear for some time now that Chelsea needed to improve their scouting network and teams, and also be much better at judging talents, current talents, and decision making. We had really fallen off the rails with this under Roman Abramovich.
Boehly and co have come in and addressed this right away, and I truly back them to turn our recruitment department into a world class team of recruiters, talent spotters, and decision makers.
It looks like also, Chelsea are going to be using some of these new experts across a number of their clubs that they intend to buy under the multi-club plans.
‘Sources tell me that Chelsea are looking to bring many names in for the recruitment department, to then send one or two out to whichever club/s we are looking to buy as part of our multi-club model.’

It really does feel like an exciting time right now as we continue this rebuild of the club from top to bottom.
