Whatever happens these next two transfer windows at Chelsea, it is highly likely that they are going to need to sign at least one new goalkeeper in one of the windows.
Kepa Arrizabalaga is certainly not going to be content in continuing as the backup to Edouard Mendy. He looked destined to leave in the summer but for whatever reason that did not transpire.
But he will really need to take a long hard look in the mirror right now and decide what is most important in his career, and if he wants to save it and prolong it, he really needs to leave Chelsea as soon as possible and I believe he will.
Edouard Mendy has reportedly already rejected a new contract offer from Chelsea, and also, his recent form has rightly been questioned. Many Chelsea fans have been left wondering whether he is the man to continue as the Blues number one. I think he’s been a great shot stopper, but the questions marks have been with the ball at his feet.

Gabriel Slonina will arrive at Chelsea in January, and he looks more than ready to challenge at the club. But throwing him in as a number one right now, would not be wise and to be honest, unless we are selling Kepa in January, then I’d be sending Slonina back out on loan for the rest of the season domestically.
So, Chelsea will certainly be looking for a new goalkeeper in the next two transfer windows, whether that be for the number one spot or the backup spot, they will certainly need to be dipping into that market.
I actually think this will become a priority soon, but the trouble is, so is the midfield, and also the attack! A lot of work to still do at the club, it won’t all happen overnight.
