Casemiro gave his official new signing interview with Manchester United earlier and beamed throughout.
And for fans wondering over his commitment to his new club, the Brazilian offered some encouraging words.
When quizzed about how he has accomplished his success, Casemiro said that he is “a player who gives everything on the pitch.
“But not just over 90 minutes, in training too, which for me is the most important thing.”
“For me, you train like you play. I feel that’s key to winning games and titles.”
The former Real Madrid man is certainly one to lead by example and United fans will hope that he can help to raise standards in the squad.
In recent times, many have criticised the team for lacking the requisite effort to represent the club.
Running 13.8km less than Brentford on Matchday 2 would have done nothing to allay that criticism, although there was a marked improvement against Liverpool.
For Casemiro, effort is everything and a requirement every day:
“I’m one of those players who wants to go home and know that I’ve done my job.
“That’s my philosophy, my mentality and now it’s all about giving everything for Manchester United.”
Erik ten Hag’s new midfield general is in line to make his debut against Southampton on Saturday.
His work permit application was accepted earlier today, and fans will certainly look forward to seeing what the five-time Champions League winner can bring to his new team.
