Borussia Dortmund boss Edin Terzic has claimed that Jadon Sancho will play in another Champions League final in the future.
The Englishman was a vital cog in the Bundesliga side’s unexpected run to the final.
Sadly for them, they could not make their first half domination pay and Real Madrid would go on to be crowned European champions with a 2-0 win.
Now that the club season has ended, the rumours about Sancho’s future are set to go into overdrive.
It was revealed last night that contrary to earlier reports, the winger has not given up on his career at United and would be willing to return on the condition Erik ten Hag is not there.
Die Schwarzgelben would love to keep Sancho but are unable to meet United’s £55m valuation of the player.
Speaking on the Englishman’s future after the final, The Independent report that his coach at Dortmund claimed “I didn’t speak about the future because we’ve been speaking about the present. I am really happy that he is with us. Playing in a final in his hometown, it’s a very special moment for him.”
However, Terzic did leave a rather large hint that he would love to continue working with the winger and believes he has a substantial future in the game.
“You can feel the joy he receives and brings in the dressing room. I am very happy to work with Jadon. We don’t know yet what the future will bring. But for sure, it’s going to bring him another Champions League final.”
The Borussia coach is likely trying to state that Sancho could help lead Dortmund to another final in the future or he could just be providing the player with confidence that he can finally fulfil his incredible potential on the biggest stage.
His performances in the Champions League this season has emboldened the player and it is partly for this reason he has not closed the door to a United return as he wants to make it at the highest level, and there are few global stages bigger than Old Trafford.
What is for sure is that United will not be playing Champions League football next season as their FA Cup win has brought them Europa League football. However, Sancho is only 24 years old, so if he stays at United, there is plenty of time for the club to grow into the type of side that can compete at the highest level.
