The international break is here, and regardless of our opinions on whether we should even be playing it or not and what we think of The Nations League, this is a good moment for some Chelsea players to gain some momentum and confidence.
I really dislike the Nations League, for many reasons, but that is for another day. I am just going to take the positives here and be thankful that we have some Chelsea players playing some matches this weekend and next week, and some football involving our lads to watch. I’m praying for an injury-free international break.
There are a few players who I think this ‘break’ will actually really benefit, some who are struggling for a bit of form, or some who will just have another chance to impress and show Graham Potter what they are capable of.
For the latter, we have players such as Armando Broja, who Potter will have firm eyes on when he lines up for Albania this weekend. He has a chance to stake a claim for a starting spot during Chelsea’s next game, which is fully deserved.

Also, loanees like Ethan Ampadu with Wales, all eyes will be on him and he will have a firm point to prove. Conor Gallagher and Levi Colwill will be looking to make statements for the England U21s, and of course, Christian Pulisic is dying for more game time and could prove a point with the USA again.
Players such as Reece James and Raheem Sterling will be looking to continue their good form this season and keep momentum building, but Mason Mount will want to step up his game for England and reiterate exactly what he brings. You can also put Kai Havertz in that category of needing to step it up a bit and can use this opportunity to do so.
There are others playing as well of course, but I think the above are the ones I am most excited for right now due to the reasons given. No injuries please!
