assessing Cesare Casadei’s future plans at Chelsea – Talk Chelsea

The future of Chelsea youngster Cesare Casadei has been the topic of conversation amongst supporters in recent weeks, with the young Italian midfielder being linked with a move to Juventus, much to the frustration of the Stamford Bridge faithful. Casadei has caught the eye with some strong performances in recent months, which came for Reading, who were eventually relegated into League One after a disappointing second-half of the 2022/23 season.

Casadei was a rare bright spark for the Royals in that season though, and caught the eye with a number of strong performances, although his efforts weren’t quite enough to save the Berkshire-based club from relegation into the third-tier of English football.

He’s since followed that up with some strong performances for the Italy Under 20’s side in the recent Under 20’s World Cup, where Italy were runners-up to Uruguay Under 20’s, which will have been frustrating for Casadei, especially when he contributed a significant amount in front of goal during the tournament. The 20-year-old chipped in with seven goals and one assist from his seven appearances during the tournament, and it appears as though his strong showings didn’t go unnoticed, with Juventus rumoured to be keen on reaching an agreement to land his signature.

Chelsea aren’t keen to entertain a permanent offer for Casadei’s services anytime soon, although they are believed to be willing to send him out on loan to a Premier League side, although it remains to be seen as to whether there are any top-flight clubs that have registered their interest in the former Inter Milan midfielder.

Experts at BonusCodeBets have revealed that Chelsea are priced at 13/8 on Sky Bet to finish in the top-four in the Premier League in the 2023/24 season. Below, you’ll find the odds on the rest of the title-chasing teams’ chances of a top-four finish this term.

    • Manchester City @ 1/25
    • Arsenal @ 4/9
    • Liverpool @ ½
    • Manchester United @ 4/6
    • Chelsea @ 13/8
    • Newcastle United @ 13/8
    • Tottenham Hotspur @ 7/2
    • Brighton & Hove Albion @ 5/1
    • Aston Villa @ 10/1

Odds displayed are correct as of 3:47 pm, Thursday 22nd June 2023. Odds are subject to change.

The Blues are certainly making the right call when it comes to making a decision on Casadei’s future, as he’s a player that has shown he can adapt well to the physical demands and intensity of English football, which is something that plenty of former Chelsea players have struggled to do. There was much hype around Casadei when he signed for the club in the summer, and he’s on his way to justifying those high hopes from the Stamford Bridge faithful. At the age of 20, he’s still got his best years ahead of him, and he seems as though he could be one of the few younger players to make the step up to the first-team picture at Chelsea.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side simply have to do everything they can to keep Casadei at the club for the foreseeable future, although another loan spell away from the club could be more than beneficial for the Italian youngster, especially since regular game time in the Chelsea first-team will be hard to come by.
