Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte has, on Saturday, taken aim at Bayern Munich counterpart Julian Nagelsmann.
For those not aware, German tactician Nagelsmann sent tongues wagging across the Lilywhite half of north London this weekend, owing to comments regarding the talents of Spurs talisman Harry Kane.
Drawn on the prospect of the Bundesliga champions moving for Kane on the back of the departure of star hitman Robert Lewandowski, Bayern’s boss refused to rule out the possibility in explaining:
‘He could score a lot in the Bundesliga, I don’t know the price, but it’s really tough for Bayern Munich. We’ll see what happens in the future.’
During his own exchange with the press on Saturday, it therefore came as little surprise when Antonio Conte was drawn on Nagelsmann’s comments.
And the Tottenham boss was not at all shy in making clear his frustrations with the German.
After first insisting that he would ‘never’ publicly discuss the futures of players on the books of another club, Conte went as far as to label Nagelsmann’s claims ‘disrespectful’.
Crucially, Conte also went on to reassure the Spurs faithful that main man Kane remains a central part of his plans for the season ahead.
