Manchester United are falling apart close to the finishing line and are in serious danger of missing out on Champions League football for next season.
Among many other issues, the attack has also failed to fire with only three goals arriving in the last six games across all competitions.
Manager Erik ten Hag has identified the need to add a striker in the summer and budgetary restrictions mean the club will be required to sell well in order to allow the club to back the Dutchman.
Elanga has found chances hard to come by under ETH
One player who has found chances hard to come by despite being one of the rare shining lights last season is Anthony Elanga.
The Swede was a starter during the initial stages of the season but has hardly been selected in the matchday squad in the second-half of the season.
The 21-year-old has managed to make 26 appearances across all competitions this season but has started only seven times and has not managed to last one full game.
He has two assists to show for his efforts and The Peoples Person had recently reported that the Sweden international’s time could be drawing to a close this summer.
There was a lot of interest for the United academy graduate during the January transfer window and according to journalist Steve Bates via Givemesport, United will look to take advantage of it.
United set to take advantage of interest in Elanga
“Eric ten Hag has been told to sell to boost his summer transfer kitty – and that’s put the future of striker Anthony Elanga in the spotlight.
“Newly promoted Burnley are believed to be one of up to 12 clubs who have checked on Elanga’s situation. United would hope to bank as much as £16 million for the striker,” the journalist wrote.
With United set to bring in a striker and a red-hot Amad Diallo to come back after his sizzling loan spell, Elanga’s chances of securing a first-team berth looks remote.
He is valued at €25million as per Transfermarkt and United should ideally try and sell him for at least that amount.
