Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka could finally be heading out of the club in January.
Over the summer, Erik ten Hag made it perfectly clear that the Englishman is not in his plans going forward and was free to look for alternative employers.
Only Crystal Palace and West Ham expressed interest, but a move never materialized.
Ten Hag has since dominantly used Diogo Dalot in all competitions, limiting Wan-Bissaka to just four minutes in the Premier League this season.
In United’s friendly games against Cadiz and Real Betis during the World Cup break, Wan-Bissaka failed to impress and showed why the exit door is the best outcome for all parties.
The 25-year-old started in both defeats and did not pull up any trees with his lacklustre displays.
It was recently reported that West Ham were exploring a January loan deal for Wan-Bissaka with David Moyes in need of a right-sided fullback.
It now seems like the Hammers are ready to follow through on their interest according to The Manchester Evening News.
Samuel Luckhurst relays, “West Ham United are interested in signing Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka on loan in the January transfer window.”
“West Ham have a close relationship with Wan-Bissaka’s representatives Unique Sports Management, which oversaw Maxwell Cornet’s transfer from Burnley in the summer.”
“West Ham are 16th In the Premier League and manager David Moyes has struggled to settle on a regular right-back. Thilo Kehrer, a centre-back by trade, lined up at right-back in their last three league fixtures.”
Wolves have also recently been credited with an interest.
This would not be the first time in recent memory that United deal with the London club in January for a player. In January 2021, Jesse Lingard made the move to the London Stadium and proved to be the difference in the trajectory of their season, helping them to a Europa League spot finish.
