An anonymous bidder paid an astonishing £200,000 to enjoy dinner with legendary Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and iconic striker Eric Cantona.
The staggering bid, as reported by The Mail, is part of an ongoing fundraising drive for the Salford Royal neurological unit.
Ferguson promised to pay the National Health Service back after a consultant saved his life when he suffered a brain haemorrhage in 2018.
The neurosurgeon, Joshi George, said in Ferguson’s documentary that there was an 80% chance at that time that the Scot would not have survived.
Fergie himself alluded to this when he said that on that fateful day there were five brain haemorrhages.
Out of the five, three lost their lives, leaving only two who luckily escaped with theirs, including the great man.
All proceeds of the charity event will go to the Salford Royal neurological unit.
Sir Alex has already done well to aid the contribution of hundreds of thousands of pounds, with the £200,000 just being the latest in his admirable and noble gesture.

Ferguson, classy as always, is tipped to bring an exquisite wine bottle from his famous wine cellar that becamefamous during his managerial reign.
